Negotiations are not possible in the presence of Turkish occupation in Libya, says National Army spokesman

Federal government adheres to preconditions for resumption of military committee talks
(Latest newspaper from newstime-June 3- 2020)Ahmed al-Masmari, a spokesman for Libya's national army, said the army welcomed the UN's invitation to return to the negotiating table to resolve the conflict in Libya. What will happen is that there will be no peace talks as long as the shadow of the Turkish occupation of Libya remains.
According to media reports, a spokesman for the Libyan army said that it was not possible to talk to militias and criminal elements or former fighters of the ISIS organization who are roaming the streets gnashing their weapons. Sources close to the government delegation said that the military committee talks between the latter (federal government) parties were based on preconditions for resumption.
Military Committee (5 + 5) meetings will begin via the Internet in Benghazi, Tripoli and New York. Highlights of the talks include a ceasefire and security arrangements for the handover of militia weapons. The UN mission in Libya has announced a new round of talks between the parties to the conflict. The aim is to reach an agreement on a ceasefire and security arrangements.
This will put an end to months of fighting on the outskirts of the capital, Tripoli. The mission said in a statement that it welcomes the resumption of talks by the national federal government and the national army. The previous two periods ended without any conclusion.
The federal government stipulated that national army bases in the capital, Tripoli, be vacated. On the other hand, the Libyan army demanded that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoan's mercenaries who had entered Libya be expelled and that militias be disarmed. Military support for militias continues.
