Under the enthusiastic leadership of Chairman NAB Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal, the National Anti-Corruption Strategy of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has begun to yield impressive results. In 1999, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was set up to recover money looted from corrupt elements and deposit it in the national treasury.
Under the wise leadership of the Chairman NAB, the NAB's anti-corruption strategy has yielded excellent results.

The Chairman NAB is committed to rooting out all forms and forms of corruption. According to the NAB statement, out of 51,591 complaints received by NAB during 2019, 46,123 have already been disposed of while action is being taken to deal with the remaining 13,299 complaints. The NAB approved verification of 1464 complaints out of which verification of 1362 complaints has been completed while verification of remaining 770 investigations is in progress.                                           

NAB has sanctioned 574 complaints while 658 inquiries are in progress. NAB has approved 221 investigations out of which 217 have been completed while 335 investigations are in progress. 101 corruption references have been filed in the accountability courts. 46 corruption references of mega corruption have already been disposed of.                                                                                                 13 inquiries and 19 investigations are nearing completion. The total value of 1275 corruption references pending in 25 accountability courts of the country is more than Rs 943 billion. NAB has set up a Joint Investigation Team (CIT) system comprising of Directors, Additional Directors, Investigating Officers and Senior Investigating Officers to benefit from the experience and collective wisdom of senior supervisory staff.
This has not only improved the quality but also prevented any individual from influencing the investigation. The NAB has set a time limit of 10 months for filing a reference after completing all the procedures for investigating the complaint. Proves sincere efforts to eradicate corruption. Where people's complaints are heard in person on the last Thursday of every month. NAB has devised a grading system to improve the performance of NAB officers and the performance of regional bureaus. A comprehensive monitoring and evaluation system has been devised to review the performance on the basis of data.
