So far 51790 corona have been tested in Sindh. He said that till yesterday there were 5291 positive cases while in Sindh there have been 5659 cases of corona, this is 11% of the total test and so far 1169 patients have recovered, this is 20.5% of the total number. The total death toll has risen to 100. We have 4426 patients under treatment out of which 3187 ie 72% patients are isolated at home, while 762 ie 17% patients are undergoing treatment in isolation centers and 477 ie 11% are undergoing treatment in different hospitals and 54 patients are in critical condition. And 18 patients are on ventilators.
He said that 332 new cases of Corona have been reported in Karachi city including 113 in South District, 100 in Eastern District and 39 in Central District, 37 in Korangi, 26 in West District and 17 in Malir. He urged the people of Karachi to take all precautionary measures including wearing masks, keeping a distance from children and the elderly and avoiding leaving the house unnecessarily, otherwise the consequences would be dire.
The number of new cases in other districts of Sindh is 72, out of which 14 were reported in Sukkur, 13-13 in Larkana and Khairpur, 7-7 in Shaheed Benazirabad and Shikarpur. Murad Ali Shah said that the local spread in rural areas is also increasing due to non-compliance of WHO and SOPs by experts on our part. "We will not be able to defeat the corona virus unless our people cooperate," he said.
He said that 2 flights arrived in Karachi carrying 505 passengers from Kuala Lumpur and Abu Dhabi, all the passengers were tested and out of them 69 passengers tested positive for Corona while the result of 39 is awaited. Murad Ali Shah said that out of 69 positive cases, 22 were from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 21 from Sindh, 19 from Punjab, 5 from Balochistan and 2 from Azad Kashmir. He said that we are increasing the testing capacity of lab operating in the province and a new lab is being set up in Larkana. At the end of his message, he said that some industrial units and online business have been allowed but You must take precautions and follow the SOP.
