Gold prices fall in US, Europe and Asia

Gold prices fell in the United States, Europe and Asia. In New York, spot gold fell 1 percent to 17 1,710.71 an ounce after the break. US gold futures fell 0.7 percent to 23 1,723.80 an ounce.

In London, spot gold fell 0.8 percent to 17 1,712.99 an ounce before the break. US gold futures fell 0.5 percent to 26 1,726.70 an ounce. Spot gold in Asia fell 0.6 percent to 17 1,716.33 an ounce. US gold futures traded slightly lower at 17 1,735.90 an ounce.
