Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah chaired an important meeting of Corona Virus Emergency Fund. Approval of Rs. 30 million for setting up of Field Hospital in PAF Museum.

The 10th meeting of Corona Virus Emergency Fund was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah at Sindh Secretariat. According to a statement issued on Thursday, members of Corona Virus Emergency Fund, Sindh Finance Secretary, Health Secretary Abdul Bari Khan and Mushtaq Chahra attended the meeting.
Briefing the meeting, the Finance Secretary said that Rs3.5 billion has been deposited in the Corona Virus Emergency Fund so far. He said that now 1000 private donors have deposited money in the fund of Sindh government. He further said that overseas Pakistanis from abroad have sent Rs. 14.6 million with the help of iCare.
During the meeting, the Health Secretary said that medical equipment purchased from the Corona Virus Emergency Fund has already started being received. PPE, laboratory equipment, machinery and other medical equipment have begun to be received. He said that Rs.500 million should be provided from the budget for upgrading ICUs of hospitals in the province. The meeting approved Rs. 30 million for setting up a 300-bed field hospital in Pakistan Air Force Museum (PAF) Museum.
In the meeting, Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah said that all the equipments procured through the fund are being inspected and audited by impartial bodies. He said that Chairman CMIT should ensure transparent supply of medical equipments procured from the fund to the hospitals. A report in this regard was also sought in the next meeting of CMIT. Chief Secretary Sindh further said that all the hospitals in the province All the needs of the hospitals being upgraded will be met.
